Connect a portfolio domain

Attach and verify a custom hostname for a published AppLaunch portfolio.

1 min read Updated 29 July 2026

Publish and test the managed portfolio hostname before adding a custom domain. This separates content problems from DNS problems.

Add the domain

  1. Open Dashboard → Services → your portfolio service → Domains.
  2. Choose the add-domain action offered by the portfolio panel.
  3. Enter the complete hostname.
  4. Add the ownership TXT record if AppLaunch requests it.
  5. Click Verify Ownership after the record is public.
  6. Add the routing record displayed for the portfolio hostname.
  7. Run the DNS verification action and wait for the certificate.

For Cloudflare, use DNS only while verification and certificate setup complete.

Verify the result

Open the custom hostname over HTTPS in a private window. Test the homepage, all navigation, images, contact form, and 404 handling. Update any absolute links that still point to the managed hostname.

Remove or replace the domain

Confirm the replacement hostname works before removing the old one. Update search, social profiles, QR codes, email signatures, and external links. DNS caches and certificates do not move instantly.
