# Configure Minecraft domains and ports

> Claim the included hostname, understand SRV records, and allocate ports for voice, maps, or plugins.

Open the service-level **Domains** tab for connection details and the included AppLaunch hostname. Open **Ports** for the primary and additional port allocations.

## Claim the free hostname

1. Open **Domains → Free AppLaunch domain**.
2. Enter the label before the suffix shown by the dashboard.
3. Select **Create Free Domain**.
4. Copy the resulting connection address.

If a hostname already exists, the action can replace or re-sync it. Replacing a hostname breaks saved client addresses until players update them.

## Understand SRV records

Minecraft's normal Java port is 25565. When the assigned primary port differs, an SRV record lets players enter a hostname without manually adding the port. AppLaunch displays the required connection and DNS guidance. Copy it exactly rather than inventing priority, weight, target, or port values.

DNS changes can take time to propagate.

## Allocate an additional port

1. Open **Ports**.
2. Click **Add Port**.
3. Add a useful label such as `Voice` or `Map`.
4. Confirm and wait for allocation.
5. Configure the plugin or service to listen on the allocated port and correct protocol.

Do not configure a plugin with a port before AppLaunch has allocated it. Additional-port quota is shown in the panel.

## Remove a port

Confirm that no plugin, proxy, DNS record, or player connection uses it, then select the remove action. Deallocation stops traffic to that port and cannot preserve existing connections.

## Common uses

- Geyser normally needs its allocated UDP port.
- Voice chat plugins normally require a dedicated UDP port.
- Web maps normally require an HTTP-capable route or port supported by that plugin.

Always follow the plugin's official port and protocol requirements.
