# Claim a free AppLaunch subdomain

> Choose, activate, replace, and remove an included AppLaunch hostname for a supported service.

Supported services show a **Claim Free Subdomain** or product-specific free-domain action. The suffix and availability are displayed by the dashboard.

## Claim the hostname

1. Open **Dashboard → Services** and select the service.
2. Open **Domains**.
3. Click **Claim Free Subdomain** or the free-domain action.
4. Enter only the editable label before the displayed suffix.
5. Submit and wait for the ready state.

Use lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens. The dashboard validates the exact naming rules and availability. Choose carefully because changing the hostname breaks saved links and bookmarks.

## Use it for a website

After the hostname appears as ready, select it in the PHP or WordPress site creation flow. AppLaunch manages the DNS for its own hostname, but the site still must finish provisioning before it serves your application.

## Use it for Minecraft

Minecraft has a product-specific included hostname. The service also displays connection and SRV guidance based on the allocated primary port. Use the exact hostname shown under **Domains**.

## Replace or remove it

Before replacing or removing a free hostname:

1. Make the replacement domain work.
2. Update public links, callbacks, and client connection addresses.
3. Confirm no active site or route depends on the old hostname.
4. Use the dashboard remove or replace action.

An AppLaunch hostname is not a separately registered domain and cannot be transferred to another registrar.
